This morning, Little C, and I had an adventure picking dandelions in our backyard. I thought she might want to just play with a full bucket of flowers afterwards, but I could tell that wasn’t doing anything for her, so I thought, “How can I do something fun with these dandelions?” Then I had the bright idea to test out using dandelions to paint with. Of course Little C loved this idea. We are really enjoying process art, and it’s a lot less stressful sometimes to just let go, and let her have fun without caring what it looks like in the end.
We already picked the yellow dandelions this morning, so the flowers were already in a bucket waiting on us to make use of them. All I had to do was grab a cupcake pan to put the paints in, my neon colored tempra paints, some paper, and a cookie pan to place the paper on.
I tried to get Little C to use the dandelions like stamps, but she kind of did a combination between stamping, and using them as a paintbrush. Again, I had to remind myself that it’s all about the process, and having fun. This is definitely a journey of both of us letting lose, and letting go. You should try it, go pick some dandelions, and have fun!
