If you are anything like me, you have probably already read the About Me section on my page, but there is so much more to my blog than I can explain in a little side bar! First, and foremost, my daughter is the biggest inspiration for this blog. This little girl not only inspires me to be a better person, but she shares in my genuine love for learning, and arts and crafts.
You never know what to expect when you have a child, and this little girl surprises me everyday with the extent of her passion for learning. For example, today she was sitting in her high chair, teaching herself how to hold up 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 fingers, while telling me how many fingers she was displaying. This behavior is very interesting, because she is only two. I don’t believe in forcing education on a child when they aren’t ready for certain skills, but some children, such as my daughter, actively seek more knowledge on a daily basis. She has also chosen to spend her bath time all week counting her toys all the way up to thirty, and then repeating this process over, and over. This enthusiasm for learning has sent me to the internet, to seek out inspiration on how to keep up with her hunger for knowledge. I have done a lot of research, a lot of creating, and with the help of my daughter, a lot of playing around with several different hands on learning activities, and I’d love to share my experiences with all of you.
Another focus of my blog is going to be arts and crafts, because what kid doesn’t like to get creative in some way, shape, or form? My husband had to turn our hallway coat closet into a craft closet for me, with the amount of craft supplies that I keep on hand! I love to search Pintrest to find inspiration for crafts, and adapt them so that my daughter can help as much as possible in the creative process. We also love the basics such as play doh, sand, markers, crayons, chalk, and oh so many other creative materials, that I will definitely be blogging about in the near future. I could keep this introduction going for several more paragraphs, but you will just have to stay tuned to see all the things that my daughter, and I are up to. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog, if you just can’t wait to see, and read more, you can visit My Facebook Page.
